[00:01:06] Speaker C: What a terrific Thursday it is today here in our beautiful country, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. Welcome to Guardian Radio Today you're on 96.9 FM. We're happy to be here with you today to share your thoughts. And of course, you know, I always have something to ponder. I'm sitting with myself today. I did hear from your good friend Gabby earlier and of course you'll be hearing from her later on on the weekend and Monday, my right hand for remark, Mr. Darvin Russell will be hopefully joining us tomorrow Sunday and will be off on Monday. And so today you have made some requests and I am here, you know, ready to serve, ready to conversate and you know, something is always on my mind. Yesterday evening I found myself for the first time in a very long time, just, I would say, energyless. And I was wondering what was going on. But then I recall that my mother had called me about 11:30 or so in the night and I was already asleep and it broke my sleep and I wasn't able to go back to bed until like for an hour two the next morning, operate on that much rest and found myself running out of steam in the evening yesterday. And so I postponed some tasks that I had and I thanked the client for giving me that respect and that appreciation and love and I went home. But upon going home, you know how we beheming school, I stopped two doors away and visited my good neighbor Sam. And everybody knows Sam, Sam likes to talk and he had our friend Dexter there. And you know, that turned into a conversation and the conversation turned into hours. And before I knew it we were going out to get some souse. I never had this thing called, I think it was mutton souse. Mutton souse. In all my years of living, I've never had mutton souse. And then came our good friend Jamal McCartney and oh Lord, the little social event turned into an instant party and we had a great time. But I did get home, I think at a reasonable time, almost one o' clock this morning, but my mind was rested and I slept until this morning. And I want you to know that I'M thankful to be here and I am refreshed today. I want to ponder the thought and you can title this particular show the Tithe, the Tax and the Tip. The Tithe, the Tax and the Tip. And when you consider all three of those, one word should come to your mind. You may have other words, of course, but as for me, one did come to my mind immediately. And that which came to my mind was the word money. Now, before I go into all of that, for those people who are not able to tune in earlier to Guardian Radio this morning, the newspaper is full of news. And I just have to, before we get into our discussion today, as you consider the tithe, the tax and the tip. And maybe you would want to call in just to give us your definition of the three of those. What is a tithe, what is a tax and what is a tip? And the numbers that you would call in would be 3236-232325-43163-25-4259. Anywhere within our country, the family of islands. 300-5720 or you can go ahead and text us at 422-479. And you know our text line is powered by BTC and we thank them for that. And just go ahead and put that through your mind and use those numbers and let me know what your thought is on the ties attacks and the tip. The headlines for those who have not had an opportunity to get their newspapers or to listen to any of our previous shows. I did enjoy those this morning. Just listening. The major headline for your favorite newspaper that has been in operation since 1844. And I like that. You know, I just like to know that businesses can last that long. So 1844, that's, that's just awesome. And so Pintard slams government. FNM leader says government's response to FRC proves it's an enemy of transparency. And then of course, three charged with gang rape of a teen. And we have Wilson Fair's possible teacher shortage. That's Ms. Belinda Wilson, who is the president, of course, of the union, Bahamas Union of Teachers. And then we have the government says it is working to resolve concerns of taxi drivers. Now these are stories that you can go ahead and read. And I'm almost certain someone joins me that we're going to be able to go through a number of these situations in a very informed and intelligent way. As for today, I don't really want to delve into heavy political conversations. I would save that for tomorrow if you so desire. However, where I will go politically, socially and religiously is the tithe, the tax and the tip. Now, I'm going to start with the tithe. Just heard from the Benneby family with C a new re. And, you know, Aaron was in the studio and the Hannah Heisey Tynes and the Fergusons and the Farquharsons. And you just heard that. You just heard that right before the news, right? A very staunch Church of God family, religious family. And most of us who are Bahamians, we know of them and they're very disciplined people, very proud individuals and extremely business savvy. And that may just be a trait of Ackland's, but we definitely know that the Benabis, they got their share of financial wisdom and so I wish them well for their reunion. But as for me in religion, I feel that everyone has a right to their belief. Everyone is not going to be Christian. We have some Muslims and we have some Rastafarians. We have the. The people from the Coptic church. You heard Ankhou Surah earlier this week about Garveinism. And, you know, you have the Coptic Church, like I said, you have people here who are of Buddhist belief and Hindu belief. And so as you go through what is religion and who God is, there are those amongst us who do not believe in a higher power. We call them atheists. They also dwell here. There's another religion that is never really acknowledged as a major religion. I think in my lifetime I've not heard of this religion mentioned, even though we all know that it exists. And that religion is called hypocritics or hypocrisy. That also exists as a major religion for people who pretend to be one thing and they know very well they're the opposite. And those satanic people or those evil people or dark people that pretend to the detriment of others, I think that must be a religion because there's a whole lot of people who we may even know that practice such. But as for me today, in terms of tithe, the tax, the tip for those people who are knowledgeable in Christendom or in Judaistic practices or ancient cultures, the tithe was a system used for a nomadic people, people who were on the move. The story in the Bible says that they were going from Egypt where they were in bondage, and when you remember the word bondage, and they were heading to a new land, a land of promise, a land of their own. And today, in 2025, we still see their quest to establish that new land even today. But as for this particular story in the Bible, these same people, and of course, the. The black Jews may give a different account because they believe they were the Jews of the day and not the Jews that we see today. And once again, that's another religious thought. You see so many different opinions for this one God or multiple thoughts for various gods. You know, it goes on. It's nothing that I'm prepared to fight or battle today. But I am saying to you, in this particular situation, they were traveling, which was supposed to have been a journey that they could have accomplished in a few days. They ended up taking years. It reminds me of our country. There's so much things that we can accomplish today, but we tend to take five years or 10 years before something actually takes place. As they were traveling, everyone had possessions. And I want you to recall where those possessions came from. Those possessions came from the ones who kept them in bondage. The Egyptians. They got the gold, they got the silver, they got the ornaments. They got all these things from the Egyptians, all the spoils. I think the book says that they borrowed from their neighbors and they put it on their socks and they. They left. So some behemoths, you all like to borrow, always want to borrow from people. You know when you all borrow and you never, never, never, ever, ever have any intention to pay back, we know who you are. Always begging, always begging. And then there are those of you who beg, but you give back sometimes. Like that gentleman on the corner of Mackey street and Shirley Street. He surprised me when the fellow in my car said to him, you know what, what you asked for a dollar for? Why can't you give me a dollar? And that gentleman reached into his pocket and gave us $5. So every beggar ain't a real beggar. Some beggars actually do give back. And so if you're a real beggar, please, for God's sake, just learn how to give back, man. Because we get sick and tired of y' all who always begging and never have anything to offer. But they borrowed of their neighbor and they started on this journey. You know the story in the Deuteronomy in The Bible, chapter 14 that tells us that there was a system called tithing, which was a 10% of your increase. Let me say that correctly. 10% of your increase. If you do not have an increase, then you don't have 10%. That's just the way it is. So the first word here is increase. Not a 10% of your whole, but a 10% of your increase. In other words, the God that they serve wasn't interested in taking their money. The God that they serve was interested in their increase. So when you are Christian, you got to let the world know that the God that you serve isn't interested in robbing you or taking from you. The God that you serve is interested in your increase. The pastor must increase, the church members must increase increase, which includes the choir director, the choir members, the church organist, the church pianists, the deacons, the deaconesses, the elders, the bishops, these people all under this particular religion is encouraged to have increase. If you are a part of an organization where you are struggling with your BPL bill, with your cell phone bill, with your water and sewage bill, you know, today we can play some Mr. Brinks, because sometimes you just feel like Mr. Brinks, everybody got a bill and they want it from you, they want your money. If you are struggling, then it means then that you're not increasing, you are decreasing. If you're decreasing, you have no tithes to give. That's plain and simple. Because God is not interested in your suffering. The God of Christianity is interested in your elevation. I just want to make that clear. And if you feel as a Christian that you are suffering, you need to have a conversation with your God. And I didn't say your pastor, I said with your God. You need to have a real conversation with your God. Because the God that I read about in that book has never been interested in taking anything away from you. From what I've known, even in the form of the one they call Jesus Christ, he's always been the one to give. When the wine ran out for the party, he gave them some extra wine and it was the best wine. When they were blind, he paid the the optometrist bill and made them see. When they couldn't speak, he. He made them talk, eh? When they couldn't hear, he made sure that the people who were deaf, they could hear. No bill. When they were hungry, fed 5,000 of them, no bill. You didn't have to pay nobody, not a cent. A treasurer, of course he did, but because he was giving the Bible also says when he asked for the donkey, they gave it to him. When he asked for the offer room, they gave it to him. And so this religion called Christianity for me is all about elevating each other through love to your God. So why do you have to slave and labor to make sure that the one person who brings a word is compensated, no one else is? Even right here at Guardian Radio 96.9 FM, there are some of you who call, and we appreciate all the calls that we get. But you all believe you'll own the station. You all don't want no one else to talk. You want to talk for 10 hours a day like no one else has anything else to say. But if you want not much to say, then find your money and pay for it. This is how the world works. When you want a service, you pay for the service. And so even in Christianity or in Judaism, there was this tithe. And according to the book, every three years, that 10% from your increase was supposed to be returned back to you from the priest, because the priest was the banker. It was the banking system. The priest was from the lineage who was the honest people? When Moses asked, who's on the Lord's side, let them come forth. And the Bible says that Levi, the sons of Leo, they came forward first, and therefore they became the Levites, who were the priests of Israel. Honest people who love God. These are the people who you want to handle your money. That's how you got these people who are the bankers of Israel. And their duty was to return the money to you every three years. And if you don't believe it, then you read your book called Malachi, chapter two, that opens up and says, oh, this commandment is for you, priest. He's talking to the pastors. You've gone away from my statutes. You've gone against my ordinances. And I will put a curse upon you. And I'll put a curse upon your seed. Read it passes. Some of your children so bad, your wife bad, and everything around you falling apart. You know why? Because you curse. God didn't curse you. I tell you the truth. We got to fix this thing. It's called tithing. It has a system of prosperity for the children of God. Now let me move on quickly to taxes. What is taxes? Taxes exist because the government needs revenue in order to bring a benefit to the whole about. Fees have to be paid to ensure that certain services, certain infrastructural services are going to be made available for those people who are hungry, homeless. We gotta find money, social services. Where you gonna get the money from? We say, oh, we got enough money in tourism. Oh, we got enough money from natural resources. Have you ever found enough money for people who have a need? Is there ever anyone who feels as if, you know what? We can be satisfied with the help that we get? Who's going to fix the roads? Who's going to fix the lights? Oh, the government got to pay for that. Pay for it with what? Oh, from the tourism dollar, they said we have a record breaking tourism number this year. Okay, the tourists came and they came on the ship and they spent $2 each or $5 each. The number of people doesn't necessarily mean that you had a financial increase. The taxi drivers. Right now in the newspaper, the government is working to resolve the concerns of the taxi drivers, the stakeholders in tourism, the musicians, they usually do. We had a young man who was just incarcerated, who was a bohemian wonder in terms of bringing people to our shores. Everyone is looking for more increase. And so when the government has a windfall or a shortage of financial resources, this is when to put it in a very soft way, taxes got to be applied, money's got to be raised. Just like when you're building your church or we're going to put a new roof on the church. So what are we going to do? We gonna raise some money today and today we need $50,000. You all know what I talking about, man. You all know what they're talking about. Government does the same thing, but because in our mind government is not just a government. Government for us is PLP and fnm. And if the number is too high, especially if we are favorable to one side over the other, either we complain or we simply say, man, the government doing a good job, that's where we part ways right there as a people. It could be killing all us, you know, but because that's my party within, they're doing a good job, look at what they doing. But if you happen to be in opposition, like how we look at the paper today, Pintard slams the government, he is the opposition. This is what we do for me, right? Wrong, black, white, up, down, we still got to live here together. And if we don't fix it, then who's going to fix it? Yesterday I had the privilege of stopping by a good friend's house and his big concern is bpl. He said, oh God man, how we gonna make it, man? The bill too high. So I said that's amazing to me. And I said, I may even agree with you. I said, well what do you think the resolve would be? He said we just want to understand the surcharge. We want to understand how does wakes because everybody complaining. I said yeah, I could agree with you that they're complaining. I said have you ever witnessed when the power goes out for day two or three, no matter how high that light bill is, you wouldn't cut that light off or nothing. You, I told you you wouldn't cut off the light you know the light will high, you say I might as well burn it anyhow. Let it burn, let it burn, let it burn. You're ready in the hole. So you want to burn some more to prove the point that it don't matter when I burn a little bit or much, I still got to pay this big bill. And so as you think this way and the neighbor thinks this way and the person in the next constituency thinks this way and everybody's thinking, let it burn, let it burn, let it burn. Surcharge, surcharge, surcharge. And we complain and we complain maybe to the right people, maybe to the wrong people. Who are you really complaining to? Are you complaining to somebody who's ready to fix the problem or, or you're going to complain to the entity that can fix the problem? Do you even know who's responsible for fixing the problem? And I dare say to you today, many of you just don't. You don't know who to call, whose shoulder to lean on or what to even ask for. But that's taxation. Nobody likes it, nobody wants it. But we all want to manage it and bring it lower so we can have a better lifestyle, A lifestyle of increase. Let's talk about the tip real quick. Sometimes when you're in the service industry, customer service, and you're in the hotels and you know, you taxi drivers, etc. There's a word, tip, tip. You work hard, you smile and you give top quality service service. I mean say, you know what, I really appreciated that. And whereas the bill may be a dollar, they give you a $5 bill and tell you to keep the change. I remember that lesson when I was young growing up. I was about, maybe about 11 years old and my, my dad used to wake me up and bring me here to The Nassau Guardian, 3:34 o' clock in the morning, right here on the western side of this building. And we have to come and pick up the newspapers for that morning. And then I would stand right on the corner of east street and Wolf Road, right by Windsor park, right there, that was my little spot. And I would sell my papers in the morning. And I recall when one morning I was on the eastern side of Ponce of Wolf Road and I went to give the guy the paper. You know, I think papers back then was maybe 25 cents, 50 cents or whatever, I can't recall, it's probably 50 cents. And this guy gives me a $5 bill and when he did that, he said oh, you could keep the change. That impressed me so much, I'm like, well, I'll be. I just made an extra $4.50. This is awesome. This is awesome. How many tourists come to our country and leave us tips? How many of you who give service in the private sector are offered tips? Or do you even know what a tip is? Because with your sassy self, do you think anybody wants to give you anything? Really? If you're not going to participate in a positive way in this lifetime, do you think anyone is going to share with you? I want you to look at the landscape of our country today. Are we tip worthy? Throwing garbage all over the streets, pot cakes running all over the roads and trying to bite people, huh? Look at the way you drive. Some of you don't let nobody out, but you want everybody to let you in. You think this is all tip worthy? This is the type of Bahamas I'm seeing today. I'm seeing a country where we practice the tithing, we practice the taxation, we practice the tip. But are we today truly worthy? This is Garth Rosebarrow joining you today. Guardian Radio 96.9 FM. How many people in this country really want to see you benefit? You really gotta have a honest conversation with yourself and with your God, whoever your God is. You need to have a conversation. [00:30:55] Speaker C: Oh, you sound good. [00:30:56] Speaker B: I haven't seen you in a while. My good friend left. [00:30:59] Speaker C: Yes, our good friend indeed. [00:31:01] Speaker B: Yeah, I've been listening to you just now, Mr. Carr, and I don't know if I understood you correctly, right? But based on my understanding, yes. Start off when you're talking about dtl, right? And you say we are complaining. Shut the light down. Or something like that? [00:31:21] Speaker C: Well, we're complaining, but who are we complaining to? And are we complaining to the people who are prepared to make the change, or are we just complaining because this is what we do? If you're going to add to the complaint, then will the complaint ever go away? [00:31:37] Speaker D: Okay, but Mr. God, yes. [00:31:40] Speaker B: We only could complain, okay? As behemoth. That's all we can come. We show, right? And we make the difference. And you know what I'm referring to, right? [00:31:49] Speaker C: I know what we do. [00:31:50] Speaker B: Pardon me? You know what we do. [00:31:52] Speaker C: I know what we do. And has it worked? I don't want to know if it has it worked. [00:31:55] Speaker B: It has been working because we've been keep trying and trying until we get it right. But what else? Let me say what else I want to touch on. [00:32:02] Speaker C: Okay. [00:32:02] Speaker B: You start to talk about crime or you didn't notice when you talk about bpl, I'm thinking about like you give the impressions as if we have a choice. Either the light is on or off. So I'm thinking in the back of my head, we have a serious problem right now with crime, right? [00:32:22] Speaker C: Yes. [00:32:23] Speaker B: And I say that because most people would say depends on what government in. We don't have a problem with crime. You'll still hear Bahamians saying that today crime is not a problem, it is a problem. I'm a Bahamian and I have a serious problem with what's happening as it relates to crime. Okay, I agree with you and thank you very much. You agree with me. Right. And I am here sitting down because of who's committing the crime and because the one thing they always say when they come on the news is our children that's committing these crimes and as if we to be held responsible. And in a way I could agree with that. Right. But where I differ always with that is most of these persons who Committing these crimes, Mr. Grant, from the time they was teenager, they was out on their own out there. Okay. And most of the time, because I say this because I work with young people in my community and I know some of the parents that reach out to some of these people for help, the church, the community activists and sometimes the government, right? [00:33:26] Speaker C: Yes. [00:33:27] Speaker B: And they. Most of the time they get it and sometimes it don't work. [00:33:31] Speaker C: That's correct. [00:33:32] Speaker B: Because even with shock treatment, right. When they do that, they don't even come back to us and tell us where these young guys end up would become of their life, you understand? Or they still ensure treatment. Are they. And then I look into the hospital, see, I touch in various different. [00:33:47] Speaker C: I'm listening. I'm following you. [00:33:48] Speaker B: And the reason I'm doing that is because. Because you give me the impressions as if as Bahamian, if the light is too much, turn it off. As if we have a choice. Okay. And then the hospital, for example. Right. The Reason that's not improving before they could fix the foot. The old. They rather say they building a new right. The hospital is in a horrible condition and persons who that don't bother is the ones who don't go there and their family don't. [00:34:20] Speaker C: I'm not going to deny that. [00:34:21] Speaker B: Pardon me. [00:34:22] Speaker C: I'm not going to deny that. But I'll ask you, how long has that hospital been in a depravity situation? [00:34:26] Speaker B: For a while now. [00:34:27] Speaker C: Give me years. How many years? Yeah, give me how many years? [00:34:30] Speaker B: More than what, 15 years. [00:34:31] Speaker C: Okay, good. That's what I want you to do. [00:34:33] Speaker B: For a little while. [00:34:34] Speaker C: Okay, good. [00:34:34] Speaker B: Haven't had improvement in that hospital for some time. They might maybe build a new wing or a new theater, ramp it up. Okay, it's a new hospital. But we need improvement. Like now. [00:34:46] Speaker C: We agree. [00:34:46] Speaker B: Like we as Bahamian could wait for that. [00:34:48] Speaker C: We agree. We agree. We agreeing with you. [00:34:52] Speaker B: They starting to run. They start that renovation under the previous government, right? [00:34:56] Speaker C: Yes. [00:34:57] Speaker B: You go there now. Mr. Grant. Is still under renovation. Okay. People still piling up on one another. Okay. People still. It's a mess. Okay. And the reason now why they want to blame us. I. I'm thinking now because I'm. I was following your mind and I could be wrong on where you was heading. Like I see where you was heading with this, you know, like, you don't want to go into it as if. [00:35:24] Speaker C: You know, I want to hear what you have to say. [00:35:27] Speaker B: Are not responsible for the condition that hospital is in. The hospital is. Has overgrown itself because of illegal immigrants. All of that you could hold responsible for the condition the hospital is in. But you can't deny no human health care. And when they are sick, if they flooded to the clinic, they could be flooded to the hospital because they are. Where else can they go? Okay, I like the call, but in the bottom. The bottom line is we are not to be held responsible. Not to turn a blind eye and say, well, let them wait. [00:35:59] Speaker C: Okay, I will address that, but I appreciate your call. [00:36:02] Speaker B: You all are over how long it's been. Whatever you get, not how long it's been. You know, I as a Bahamian look at things and I pray God every behemoth looking at it the same way. Okay, If I put Prime Minister A for five years and he ain't do nothing, I move in him and I can try B. If I put. I move in him and I can try C. Okay. If B was there, I'm not gonna help. See you trying to get there. Responsible for what we didn't do. [00:36:35] Speaker C: Okay. [00:36:38] Speaker B: Never been there. [00:36:39] Speaker C: So watch this. [00:36:40] Speaker B: Pardon me. [00:36:40] Speaker C: So watch this. Right. Moses was leading these people for 40 years in the wilderness. You think it was Moses fault? [00:36:49] Speaker B: I don't think so. [00:36:50] Speaker C: Okay, it wasn't Moses fault but he was the leader. [00:36:52] Speaker B: Not have been Moses fault. Right. [00:36:53] Speaker C: Right. Now watch this. [00:36:54] Speaker B: Go ahead. [00:36:55] Speaker C: Watch this. Now all I'm simply saying to you is that many times a solution is right before us, but we ourselves have not disciplined ourselves to look towards a solution. If you choose A today and A fails, then you choose B and then B fails and then you choose C and C fails those three times, that's 15 years. Fifteen years you've just failed because you yourself seemingly to me and you can fight me on this. Seemingly to me, you don't even know what you're looking for. [00:37:23] Speaker B: Okay, Mr. Grant. [00:37:24] Speaker C: But if you know this is Mr. Roseborough. But if you, if you know what you're looking for and you know when, that's fine too. I don't. You can call me dog if they want. I. I have people myself. But if you, if you. If you. If you know what you're looking for. Like when I went to university, I had to learn the discipline of my study. I had to know what to look for as a problem. University works in life. Everybody has not been to university. But you don't need to go to university to learn one thing. How to identify a problem and how to seek a solution. [00:37:55] Speaker B: Okay, Mr. God. Yes, I hear you right. They'll say as a behemoth, I don't intend to do the same thing over. [00:38:03] Speaker C: Correct, I hear you. [00:38:05] Speaker B: Okay. If I have a dear and he ain't doing right, I must look like a fool to keep the a deer right for another five torch of the ears. Okay, I must look like a fool. What. What else can I expect? [00:38:19] Speaker C: I'm saying you go to A, you go to B and C and they all give you the same results, then. [00:38:23] Speaker B: What do you do? I will continue. You didn't hear me say continue and continue until we get it right. [00:38:27] Speaker C: When I said to you, when you continue and continue until you get it right, it's 40 years. That's what I'm trying to tell you. Well, it matters to me because I am not going to be in the 40 years with you. [00:38:37] Speaker B: Well, that's the ought to do. But I know feel right to me if I make my choice to say guess what? I am not voting. Voting for the same. [00:38:43] Speaker C: Well, I appreciate your call. [00:38:45] Speaker B: I ain't voting for the same thing. [00:38:47] Speaker C: And I Heard you loud and clear. [00:38:48] Speaker B: Election is tomorrow. I vote today. What can I expect for tomorrow? [00:38:53] Speaker C: I hear you. [00:38:55] Speaker B: What I could look forward to. You put Mr. Something there, then at least he may have a change of mind. A different something or something different I could look forward to. But what I could look forward for for the same thing. And I see nothing yet in the time you've been there. What difference can I get from you? [00:39:12] Speaker C: Well, your opinion is recorded. [00:39:13] Speaker B: Yes, it may show me nothing. [00:39:15] Speaker C: Your opinion is recorded. I got you. I got to take another call up, but I. I appreciate your call and stay positive and stay lovely. Now. Call you on the line. Hey, how you doing? [00:39:29] Speaker B: How are you? [00:39:30] Speaker C: I'm doing well. You know, I got my friend right there. She's a little irritated, but you're not trying to give another perspective. But she has a right to opinion. And I'm gonna allow to have her opinion with respect. [00:39:41] Speaker B: You know, I understand where she's coming from. You know, you and I don't agree with everything she said. [00:39:45] Speaker C: Correct. [00:39:46] Speaker B: But you know, talking about the hospital being in a dilapidated state, she's correct. Downward spiral. As she was saying. The renovation started under the last previous government. That renovation started on the England. [00:40:01] Speaker C: They've been renovating from the time I was a child. We've been renovating the hospital. [00:40:04] Speaker B: Thank you. But if you look at the government, government run and own buildings around the country, family islands included, all of them are running down. So what's the purpose of the maintenance? What is perfect of works? So does the person in works do? Because they have plumbers, they have carpenters, they have painters, they have everybody in there. But yet they outsourcing all of these jobs. Meantime, campus school, school repairs. They do the repairs at the. At the last minute when the place need more. More work done to it versus upkeep. What happened to upkeep? Why the government can't upkeep their. Their stuff? That's what I want to know. [00:40:42] Speaker C: Because this is why Moses rock when he was supposed to speak to the rock. [00:40:45] Speaker B: No, Moses strike the rock. Moses strike the rock. Instead of speaking to the rock. Because of the frustration from the people. [00:40:53] Speaker C: And this is what I'm saying to you. [00:40:54] Speaker B: No, there is no frustration from the people for these governments. [00:40:57] Speaker C: Okay, so watch this. Watch this. [00:41:00] Speaker B: Then the frustration came to Moses because the purses was on his neck. [00:41:03] Speaker C: Okay, watch this then. Watch this. Then I'm going to ask you a question and I know you're a very intelligent person. How do we pay for all of these things? [00:41:14] Speaker B: The first line of being able to pay for all these things would be. You already have a hired staff at quote unquote Ministry of work. [00:41:26] Speaker C: Okay, so. [00:41:27] Speaker B: So already a part of your pay system. [00:41:32] Speaker C: So we have to pay these people. [00:41:34] Speaker B: Hold on. We don't have to go extra when we already have you employed. [00:41:37] Speaker C: I'm listening. [00:41:38] Speaker B: Anyhow. Plumbers employed, carpenters employed, mechanics employed. All of these persons, every line of work that you have in any building that owned by government, there is an. There is a handful of employees, city administrative works being paid monthly to do these work because of friends, families and servers. Instead of you utilizing the persons you already have hired to do these jobs, you go out there and find a friend, a family or whoever to give the same job to. So now you are double paying, which cause my tax to have to go higher, which causes you to take money from the disabled persons to party with and then take the party money to pay your friends somewhere. [00:42:28] Speaker C: So. So watch. Boy, I tell you, I love this call. So watch this. Now, your child just finished high school. I'm not talking about your child. Okay? A young child finishes high school, barely finishes high school, barely gets a diploma, if they even get one. But the MA is a good PLP and the power is a good f M. Let me put it like that. Or vice versa. The child out of school. I don't know which government in power, but my child needs a job. Need a job, Mr. Mr. Wannabe, MP, Mr. Aspirant. This company ain't doing the job they're supposed to do now. So if you won't come in, I need you to give my child a job or else. Now this is. I tell you, I tell you I know. But it. Does this exist? Does this exist? [00:43:18] Speaker B: I know, I know. Existent. It been existent is our problem. [00:43:23] Speaker C: I know it's a problem. That's why I'm trying to point to you the problem. I'm trying to paint to you the problem. Okay, so the child is on the job. Now the boy got a little smoking problem, huh? He got a little be bring things to work, to sell. You know they talking about. I ain't trying to. Okay, good. The boy ain't know nothing but plumbing. He know nothing but carpentry. He know nothing but engineering. He know nothing but mechanics. He know nothing but painting. He know nothing but driving. He can't even drive a stick shift vehicle. But he on the job. Why? Because his ma and PA are politically connected and we got to pay him every month. Because if you fire him, you can hear from the MA and the page. [00:44:02] Speaker B: And the union and the union. [00:44:04] Speaker C: And okay, so once again, I asking you again what you want these people will be MP or these government people to do when I'm the PS and you bring me all these people who can perform and can't function. You, the school falling apart, the hospital falling apart, the electrical wire on the ground, the roads got pothole. What do you want me to do? I try to do the best that I could, but. But you still didn't complain. Because my best is never going to be enough. Cuz number one, I don't have enough resources in the treasury. And number two, I don't have the staff who's capable and able to do the job correctly. I got a problem, I got a problem. And that's why I telling y', all, you'll never ever, ever, ever again in this lifetime ask me to be no pain doing that. [00:44:47] Speaker B: Then it's like that. God, then you, you, you're the Egypt, you in Egypt. [00:44:52] Speaker C: This. [00:44:52] Speaker B: Ah, you're in bondage. [00:44:53] Speaker C: So, so, so, so, so the solution. [00:44:55] Speaker B: Now I said that because why. Okay, I can show you something like the bus system, right? Let me just use this as an example because I, I've seen it, been there, done that. I rode the bus here time and time again. And I would take the fact that they stop here, they stop right there, they stop again, they stop again, they stop under the light, they stop the light no matter what, you know. And everybody wants to bust up every second and they stop, you know. Then I travel to the States always using taxi or hotel shuttle. And one time I decided to use the bus. And then I realized that I learned something from my sister. You better pull last train for your upcoming bus stop. Or if you, if you get enough where he stopped, get off. Because you will come off again the next mile up the road. Because they ain't stopping again. They ain't stopping again. And you better be on that bus stop when that door open. They get 10, 10 seconds or 15 seconds to be there. If you disable and you ain't reach that door, they shut that knee, drive off. That's the rules. Damn the rules. You understand me here we are too slack, lenient and wanted all. [00:46:02] Speaker C: And this is what I'm trying to talk about today. [00:46:04] Speaker B: We don't feel like, we feel like we deserve the word. But guess what? We don't have to lift our finger to do it. And that's a problem with the government system. The persons that they hire for France. I know, I've seen it time and time again, years and years on Top of years people retire, get big pension. You what they did to work most of their time. Now you have a lot of hard working good government workers Now I'm not saying all but you know what most of the some of them have done sat down under the tree, smoke, don't sell weed. [00:46:31] Speaker C: You must say, you must live here for true. Listen man, we gotta get to news. [00:46:36] Speaker B: Salary at the end of the month. [00:46:39] Speaker C: We gotta get the news. I'm just bringing you back to Guardian Radio 96.9 FM the program Guardian Radio today we have you know a good producer there, Kermit. He's about to step away and we're gonna bring in my good friend Mr. Chris Penniman in short order. But you know one thing with these shows, hopefully the messaging, hopefully the lessons that we sharpen each other iron makes us a better country. Let me go straight to the lines if I made Kermit, I see the line is blinking and you been trying to reach us before the news. Calling the line. Go ahead. [00:49:53] Speaker D: Hey God. [00:49:54] Speaker C: Hey. [00:49:55] Speaker D: Yeah, we Become loaded. Today you draw Moses attention to us. But you know, those people, it was not against Moses, you know, against God. [00:50:10] Speaker C: Because. [00:50:13] Speaker D: Moses was only the deliverer to tell them what the Lord say. But God deal with them inside the wilderness. And God told this generation, you all ain't gonna make it to the promised land. [00:50:29] Speaker C: Watch your mouth, baby, watch your mouth. You, you talking good talk, you know, and you're talking good talk. [00:50:34] Speaker D: And so said the Lord said my God, all of them die inside the building. [00:50:39] Speaker C: My God, when we can get this thing fixed. We look like we can die before this get fixed is what I trying to say. These people listening to what I got to say. [00:50:46] Speaker D: But, but with DC 8:30 in the night, I turn off my light 6:00 clock in the morning. I mean I turn on my light 8:30 in the night, 6:00 in the morning, I turn it off. I try, I know the bill is a little high, so I try to help also that it wouldn't go higher. So I try to do some things on my end and stuff like that instead of complaining, complain because this is going into politics. [00:51:19] Speaker B: And some of these people, yes. [00:51:22] Speaker D: And I can't say, well it ain't no true. But some of them because of political. Everybody's saying now the BL high, the bill high, the BL high it could be, you know, I don't know. But I'm saying watch the trench. What's going on. It start from the other party, one of the leaders saying how high their bill is. Everybody's saying the same thing. And my last point is the hypocrisy inside this country is unbelievable. We will touch on the man who steal the corned beef, the tissue paper and stuff like that. What about these hypo cases? What about that case is with one of the mp, former mp, her name is inside, inside the paper. She don't even have a court day yet, you understand? But we will drill the man who steal or who going with his nine year old grandchild and stuff like that. And we leave all of those things. But we believe that God ain't see these things. The hypocrisy inside this country. But we get so much religious talk. We get so much talk on our mouth, but every word come our mouth. God, God, God say this, God say the next thing. And if the truth of the matter being they go in the nighttime eating pork greasy pork chop late in the night and dream and all kind of. [00:52:50] Speaker C: Dreams, man, you preaching and wake up. [00:52:52] Speaker D: And say what God tell them? God ain't tells Them nothing of my sin, hear me? [00:52:57] Speaker B: Nothing. [00:52:57] Speaker D: God tell me if I was, if I were with the government I would be in a one time government because I tell you I would just do what I had to do and that's it. [00:53:09] Speaker C: Thank you, I so appreciate that. Call a very wise caller. Not that the other callers weren't also wise, but yeah, I can identify with much of what you're saying. I got several tests here on the tax line. One text says looking forward to an excellent show talk show Today the taxi drivers and entertainment issues are going to change the scope of the general election along with our illegal immigration problems. The Bahamas has woken up and Jehovah God Almighty is in charge. That's what one text says. Good afternoon. God's words to be words to the foolish arrogance is not a good partner to run a successful government. If you don't get it right, they will lose the election. Good afternoon Garth. I was always wondering why every school can't have a maintenance crew that takes care of schools year round centrally through a high school. Looks like a shanty town. Okay, the other Texas says Goth. I like and respect you, look forward to to hearing you speak. But just as I don't want folks listening to Guardian radio to confuse you with Pearly who is a totally different person from you, Goth in the same way, I don't want you to confuse Garveyism or Pan Africanism with multi multitudes of religions out there. Garveyism is about blacks decolonizing their minds. Black or African worldwide uniting as one to empower themselves and their black nations for the better. Just like the western white united European nations and their descendants do. Blacks united, you stand divided you stay weak and continue to fall. Also one text. Let me see if I can take another one here. Caller on the line, go ahead. [00:55:12] Speaker D: Yeah. Bless up God. [00:55:13] Speaker C: Yes sir. [00:55:14] Speaker D: Listen to my path. Listen to my wrath. Now you know the last caller is. Gentlemen. I love him. God ain't telling him nothing, you know. [00:55:23] Speaker B: You see. [00:55:23] Speaker D: And so this is where we, this is where it lies. But as you let me get this king quickly into religion, right? My mind is not like a pigeon. Now if you really realize that all these people came from the seed of Abraham, you know, huh? You know that right? [00:55:38] Speaker C: God, okay, the seed of Abraham. [00:55:39] Speaker D: Yes, that's what I'm saying. So we all are one. So idealists, I mean ideologies won't save me and you God. Okay, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the Jews or the Israelites, they meandered in the Wilderness, not because they didn't know where the promised land was. You know, they was afraid of the Canites that were living there. I don't know if you read the Bible properly. They knew where to go, but they were procrastinating because they were afraid. I don't get into the story, but what I'm saying is as it relates to what you were saying, right? If iron sharpen iron, right. And a non conformist who calls the talk show is always lying. How can iron sharpen iron when the truth makes the person lying? You see what I'm saying? So not because I don't conform to the norm of the status quo narrative. That means I'm talking bs. Whether it be from science, whether it be to opinion, sometimes a visceral or anecdotal might be correct. So what I'm saying is then hence status quo narratives, hence scientific dictatorship or status quo dictatorship in which you don't have the ability or the mental capacity to question anything. Just everybody on the planet jump up and say yes, yes, yes. Nobody says no. What type of plan is that? God, all right then, that's all I want, you know, but I hope you get what I'm saying. I do, yeah. But as it relates to politics, right? God, yes. They know the art of politics, man, you know, you know, propaganda, division, etc. Etc. And so all of those, Texas, I love all of them. And the thing is the guardian of the best, best Texas in the world, you know, some of them, you know, people, I just get to know what people think when they see me, you know, and they'll say, oh, I know that voice, I know that voice everywhere I go. But they, they, they, they are afraid to call. A lot of people are afraid to call sense to the same truth from life. And that's where the problem lies. Casting a pearl among swines. After a while it gets to your mind, you understand me? [00:57:26] Speaker C: I like it. [00:57:27] Speaker D: But not, not many people will criticize conversations, facts, like a text to text. Someone yesterday and thought about allowing people to say this and say I don't know who they was referring to. But before they say that, I guarantee you they didn't go and Google or fact check anything. Like during the pandemic, no fact checking was going on. And so this is why I discredit Dr. Minnesota. He did some good things. But then as it relates to the science, my mind will never change or not. I don't really need no one to agree with me because I don't work with lights to just likes give thanks. [00:57:56] Speaker C: I Appreciate you always, my brother. This Texas says, I reject the notion that raising taxes should be the government's default response to financial shortfalls. Before adding one more cent to the burden of Bahamians, we must first enforce what's already law, the full honest declarations of assets by every government official. And if there's still a shortfall, then everything must be on the table, including a comprehensive forensic audit of every current and former official in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. Taxpayers should not be penalized for mismanagement or inefficiency. Accountability and recovery of public funds must come of raising taxes. Call on the line. Go ahead. Calling on the line. [00:58:49] Speaker B: Yeah. Good afternoon. [00:58:51] Speaker C: Hey, good afternoon. [00:58:52] Speaker B: Good afternoon. How are you? [00:58:54] Speaker C: I am wonderful today. [00:58:56] Speaker B: Good. I just he. You were talking about all the different organizations but you didn't talk of. You didn't say anything about Buddha. Buddha's here too. [00:59:11] Speaker C: I said that. I said the Buddhist called Buddhists. Yes, I did mention them, but you may not have heard it, but they're here as well. [00:59:17] Speaker B: And I just want to. I saw something last night on a show I'm not going to call no name and the person hold up a paper, a newspaper and say, look at all this. Look at this. She was talking to another person who was on the show and said they are waiting to get to come through, but they all have illegal Bahamian papers. I haven't heard. Nobody said anything about that. Is that, is that just a flat. But she, the person and the show hold up the newspaper and show it to the community. And I'm on the show. So I was so upset about it myself because I thought somebody would say something on the show about one of the shows. But I listened to all the shows and I didn't hear nobody say anything. But I say on Randy Bayesh what they was talking about on that show last night. [01:00:19] Speaker C: Yeah, I'll probably touch. [01:00:20] Speaker B: Did you see that? [01:00:21] Speaker C: Well, I didn't see it yesterday. I was actually in the company of others yesterday. [01:00:26] Speaker B: I saw it on the show. What I can do, I'm not gonna call nobody names. [01:00:31] Speaker C: Yeah, what I can do, I can research it and I can touch a little bit of it. Tomorrow we can deal with some of the issues of the country. [01:00:39] Speaker B: Have a good evening. [01:00:40] Speaker C: All right. I appreciate you. [01:00:41] Speaker B: Very interested in that. [01:00:42] Speaker C: Thank you. Well, we're interested in you. We're very interested in you and we appreciate you. [01:00:50] Speaker B: Okay. Have a wonderful evening. [01:00:52] Speaker C: You man. Thank you for calling. This Texas says can we find out if the JCNP has lifted the junk rule suspension on crew practices and performances yet because they don't like the proposed Junkanoo bill. Well, that's a good question. You can ask Erin Green or CN Newie about that tomorrow if you want to, or Dwight Strawn, or you may even ask Naughty. They may know this evening. I have not been in tune with that at all. Not that I don't love John Kanu. I'm actually one of those people who are very much peeved at the idea of a Junkanoo Carnival. But that's another discussion. You know, like I said, we all have our opinions, we all have our likes, and I respect yours and I expect people to respect. It's just a bit too sensitive for me and I have to breathe before I make any approach on certain subject matters. So forgive me for being human, but this is what I do. God, they're wrong for confusing you with another show name in comparison. Well, I appreciate your support. I'm almost certain that no one comes on the microphone here unless they can perform and do a great job. But I do understand that we do sound alike. We actually attended the same high school, St. Augustine's College. And so maybe one of the classes taught us to talk the way we do and have the similar voice. I don't know. But he said he was mischievous in school. And I told him he was never as mischievous as me. I am Detention Daddy, the founder of the chain gang under Leviticus Lou Aderley. So don't play with me. If you want to get down and mischievous, let's dance. I love it. I live for mischief. Garth, do you think it's possible that politicians own some of those livery vehicles, so they were given special privileges? That's another question that's being thrown out to you. This last text, it says, God's politics is a religion in the Bahamas. Bahamians worship politicians as their gods with every fiber of their being. Now, I just had to get through all of those texts and a lot of callers to speak because, you know, time is ticking. We're going to go with this. When you look at the raising of revenue, and of course in the Bahamas, the government has to earn its revenue or borrow the revenue necessary to manage. I use the word manage this country when you attend your synagogue or you attend your house of worship or your church or your center, the church has two systems that it utilizes, which is the tithing system, whether it's done correctly or not, and the offering system. Tithing tends to be the 10%. However they stipulate if you want to be a member of their church you follow their rules. That's the way it works. I can't tell anyone out there how to run their church. If you ask me the biblical way, I can tell you that. But if you tell me the way of your church, it is the way of your church. And that's how you all do business. And praise be to God. If they want to attend your church and allow you to do what you do, you all will have a conversation with God about it. It won't be me. When it comes to tips in this country, tips and pay by way of attitude, showing of commitment, a showing of interest. Those are the three systems. Whenever the church needs additional money, they ask for it. And many of you, you give it. You give it willingly. I grew up in a time when the church needed money, people would give the church their rent, their mortgage, the children's school fees. That's how it works. Because you want to please God. You want to please God. You want God to know that you are a cheerful giver. Many of you attend these churches. However, when you leave the church door, you don't give nobody nothing. I use the word nothing. I didn't say nothing because I can't speak proper English. I said nothing. You don't give nobody nothing. Only your pastor could get. Only your church could get. Your neighbor can't get nothing from you. As a matter of fact, you don't even want talk to your neighbor. Your neighbor is not in your class, mind you. You all live on the same street, but they're not in your class. You better than them. Your house painted better than them. Your dog better than this. Huh? You got three, four air condition in your house with don't turn off your house so cool. And they will come and talk to me today. But your light built so high. Y' all is them kind of people. Are you talking to them people? It may not be you, but I talk about them kind of people, okay? And don't tell me they don't exist in this country. Man, they gotta have a better car than you. If you get yourself a little Subaru or a little Suzuki today, they got one of them Lexus over them. Big Time guy. That's how we go. They would have the best car church. They were not the best dress or the best suit. That's how they go. Ain't nothing wrong with having pride. Ain't nothing wrong with looking your best for Jesus or to look good. I'm not saying that. What I'm saying is that your effort is to exalt yourself above everybody else. Intentionally that you don't even have spare change to help your brother to your left or to your right. That's what I'm talking about. That's all I'm saying. But you are a child of God and God speaks only to you. And you supposed to have the best and everybody else around you supposed to suffer. Call on the line, Go ahead, go ahead. Caller. [01:06:55] Speaker D: Question, right, so what wrong? What's wrong with wanting something in life? [01:06:59] Speaker C: I never said there's something wrong with wanting something in life. [01:07:02] Speaker D: No, no, not you, right? Yeah, but people actually think that for true, you know? [01:07:05] Speaker C: Yes. [01:07:06] Speaker D: Why are you punished for some strangers in the Bahamas, right, For actually wanting more knowledge or getting more and stuff materialized. [01:07:15] Speaker C: Nothing wrong with that. [01:07:16] Speaker D: In the middle of the night, say, okay, God, I won't be broke in the morning. [01:07:20] Speaker C: No, no, no, no, no, no, no. [01:07:23] Speaker D: Operate of what I'm talking about, right? Go ahead, you go off to school, right? Follow me on this now, right? You get a higher education rate. Guess what? You penalize for that. [01:07:32] Speaker C: That's true. [01:07:33] Speaker D: When you come back, you overqualified. [01:07:34] Speaker C: That's true. [01:07:35] Speaker D: What kind of madness it is? [01:07:36] Speaker C: That's madness. [01:07:39] Speaker D: Let me give another example, okay? Spend all your time, 24 hours in a day, right? You spend 19 or even 70 of them working dead to get all kind of things and make money, right? Now you go into politics. Guess what they say. Oh, he too rich, he can't connect to the people, right? Then you're poor. You're selling that dog. Oh, you're poor. You come another thief, right? Then you can't see how pronounce the word or you dumb. What we want, I have no clue what we want in this, in this country. Well, you penalize for every single thing. That's right. You go feed the people. You know, the people tell them, oh, you too rich, you got money. Use a number, boy. [01:08:28] Speaker C: Yeah, well, I try not to to. [01:08:30] Speaker D: Call anybody's names here if I could. [01:08:33] Speaker C: But I'll tell you this much. This is the 40 years that I'm speaking about, wandering around in this wilderness, complaining in this country. Yes, I agree with you and I thank you for your call. I agree with you. The hospital has to be fixed, the road's got to be fixed. There are certain things that have to be fixed. Politicians need to be accountable. They need to go ahead and reveal to us statuses before they get into politics. I agree with all of these things that you're saying to me. But if you realize that the list of complaints is extremely long and it's been long for some time. And I'm only simply saying to you that I don't see anywhere anytime soon that these complaints are going to stop. I'm just being frankly honest. You tell me you believe in God and you have faith in God and then you turn around and say, you know what? Why these politicians ain't doing well? Maybe the prayer to God ain't working for you because if you pray to God, God should be able to tell between God and the politician. That's what you're telling me. Nobody's even pointing at the system itself. Nobody's saying the system itself is broken. I was trying to explain to an earlier caller, whether you choose A, B or C, you're going to get the same result. And I was just trying to bring a hint to you that maybe we're looking at the faces of individuals or the political affiliation of individuals and not looking at the system itself. Because if you choose a different face tomorrow, you get the same results. Because I was trying my very, very best not to call any names on the show or any entities. But I can say this to you. There is a place for competition in this country and there are some entities in this country that have a. What you call a monopoly. There was another entity in this country that also had competition. And now you could make calls all over the world for a few cents on the dollar. Am I right or wrong? Call on the line. Go ahead. Hey, how you doing? How you doing? All in all as well. [01:10:25] Speaker B: Yes, sir. How you doing? [01:10:26] Speaker C: Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. I salute you today. How's everything? [01:10:30] Speaker B: Everything is good. Praise the Lord. [01:10:31] Speaker D: Thank you, God. [01:10:32] Speaker B: I need your assistance with something, please, because I'm trying to process this. My calculation serves me right. Okay. These flights that are coming in from the south three times a week, I have seen it myself because I was at the airport a few times. Is bringing in a lot of children, lot of women. I've seen it. Okay, what is the plan going forward for all of these children? Because they're not going back. [01:11:02] Speaker C: They're not going back. [01:11:03] Speaker B: They're not going back. It's not like when we take our kids to Disney World for a vacation and we bring them back. These kids are not going back. Who is responsible for ensuring that these people return back to their homeland? I was in the mall of Marathon just now and I kid you not for the amount of foreigners that is in there from the south with their children shopping for back to school. And for the school, what is the plan for the hospital just in case these people become ill? If they are coming in by the draylor three times a week. What is the plan for the country going forward? This is concerning to me. And you should be concerning. [01:11:54] Speaker C: You should be. [01:11:58] Speaker B: And I heard a gentleman on one of the talk shows last evening spoke spoken reference to this. And I said I thought it was only me one who noticed that the amount of children that is coming in skits are not going back. These kids will grow up to be adults one day and you cannot deny. You should not deny them education because then what happens when they get older? [01:12:21] Speaker C: I. I'm going to take another call, but I'm going to. I'm going to respond to you. Is that okay, thank you. There. Next call on the line. Go ahead. [01:12:29] Speaker D: Hey, good afternoon, mister. How are you today, man? [01:12:32] Speaker C: I am wonderful, boy. You say my name like I'm important. I appreciate that, man. Make me feel good. [01:12:37] Speaker D: Yeah, man. Listen, we have to be real in this country. We need to stop that hysteria with these poisons that coming in from the south. Listen, we go to the United States, we go to England, we go all over the world, right? Don't we have a passport? [01:12:51] Speaker C: We do. [01:12:52] Speaker D: Okay. These people who are coming in and not coming in illegally, you know, they come in here legally, not because they're coming from the South. [01:12:59] Speaker B: May. [01:12:59] Speaker D: And that we should throw a stereotype at them because at the end of the day, in our early, early age of growing our country, if it wasn't for some of these people in the south coming here to help us, we wouldn't have had the assistance that we have today. I understand what some persons are saying, but everybody that comes to our country is not illegal. All right? And the immigration have a system right now. If they come here, they have to have a number to bring when they come in. They have to meet some criteria. So you trying to tell me that immigration in the Bahamas is just really letting people come in because there's three flights a week. [01:13:35] Speaker B: Listen, the same thing. [01:13:37] Speaker D: If horses were coming from the north and they have their passport, they have to meet the credentials that the immigration is asking for. So we just need to stop that man. [01:13:48] Speaker C: All right, I appreciate it. [01:13:50] Speaker D: Get poisons in the person because they. They have their from the south. That means that the kids are from the south. Some of those kids are born right here in the Bahamas of the people of. Of a different nationality and of one behemoth heritage. You have to look at all that, all of this and stop throwing at hysteria. If we gonna use that as an election ploy, we need to start that, man. [01:14:13] Speaker C: Okay, I Appreciate you, man. Hey listen man. Folks, I gotta respond to those callers just now, but listen. You're listening to Guardian Radio today 96.9 FM. I want you to stay on the dial with us. Quickly folks, as we are getting nearer to the end of the show. I'm gonna have to limit your calls to about a minute or so or less. But hey, let's see if we can squeeze you all in first. Call in the line. Let's go. [01:18:56] Speaker B: Hey, God, Roseboro. Oh boy. [01:18:58] Speaker C: I love that energy. I love that energy for Thursday. My Lord, I feel like I could make it to the weekend now. Go ahead. [01:19:04] Speaker B: I love it. The lady that called spoke about the persons coming in. The gentleman that called after her was saying I guess we're looking at it in the wrong way. You know, the fact that they helped build nation build. However, she did not said illegal. You know, she said who is making sure that these persons go back? [01:19:25] Speaker C: Right. [01:19:26] Speaker B: That was what she said. I think that was probably her main point. [01:19:30] Speaker C: Yes, yes. [01:19:30] Speaker B: They're coming here for whatever. And then what's the purpose of children? What, what nation build will children do? How can they assist unless you, you're going to do child labor. So what's the purpose of the children coming in? You know what I'm saying? Order then to give them time to be here just to turn around and take it Too long now. We got to give them some status. [01:19:54] Speaker C: I like it. [01:19:54] Speaker B: You understand me? So I. I feel like he probably, you know, misunderstand the point that I. I assume that she's trying to make. Who's keeping eye on this? Who's keeping count? Who's tracking these persons? [01:20:07] Speaker C: Well, I appreciate you listening and having my back and continue to support us here at Guardian Radio, 96.9 FM. Thank you so much, my dear. Next call on the line. Let's go ahead. Go ahead, caller. [01:20:19] Speaker D: Good afternoon, guys. [01:20:20] Speaker C: Hey, Dr. Thompson. How you doing? [01:20:23] Speaker B: I'm fine. [01:20:23] Speaker D: How are you, man? [01:20:24] Speaker C: I'm well, my brother. Thank you for calling in. [01:20:27] Speaker D: Good afternoon to the nation. There's so much misinformation, disinformation. I even hear leaders, not followers, leaders who want to lead this country again within the opposition, the opponent spreading disinformation. And it is ridiculous, man. It is so ridiculous. It is of a character that makes you to wonder, how do these people form their mouth to ask Bahamian people to vote for them and support them, right? I mean, people on the Guardian, on other Guardian platforms are allowing such misinformation. When you have on. On one hand, God, you have the Guardian who is reporting the news, reporting the news to the bohemian people, and then you have hosts on the next hand who don't even know what is going on in their country. [01:21:20] Speaker C: Well, Anton. [01:21:21] Speaker D: Or even. Or even with the newslet. [01:21:25] Speaker C: Here's where. Here's where I want to take the conversation because you see, the bantering between PLP and F and M continues every other. [01:21:33] Speaker D: I'm not speaking about no bantering, God. [01:21:35] Speaker C: But listen, what I'm saying. It's your opinion. [01:21:37] Speaker D: It ain't an opinion. Listen, that's what I'm saying to you. [01:21:40] Speaker C: Listen. [01:21:41] Speaker D: I'm speaking about reports from the Guardian. [01:21:43] Speaker C: Yes, but I'm saying to you again, it's still someone else's opinion or someone else's belief. And I'm trying to say to you again that is there a flaw in the system of money itself? [01:21:54] Speaker D: Let me make my point. Let me make my point. [01:21:57] Speaker C: Okay? [01:21:59] Speaker D: First and foremost, you are the Minister of Foreign affairs, also a former Minister of Immigration, also a part of the Cabinet of the Bahamas. The Cabinet of the Bahamas is the only entity that approves, that reviews and approves any kind of citizenship or permanent residency, et cetera, for foreigners in the country. We had Fred Mitchell, no less the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Fred Mitchell, in an interview on the Guardian, explaining that since the PLP government came to office, meeting with about 40 persons, maximum between 30 to 40 persons, max, as it relates to citizenship and other types of applications related to immigration. Right. If we multiply it over four years, that's 19, 20. If my mind doesn't lead me wrong. Right. But here it is. You have leaders in the f. And I'm saying that they. They are hearing that the Governors has approved 8,000 applications, which is utter nonsense. [01:23:04] Speaker C: So what? So what? I'm saying what I'm saying again, and that is. I want to talk a little bit more about that tomorrow. Today. I don't want to go down that road today, but I hear you. [01:23:13] Speaker D: I'm only picking it up because you are engaging in immigration discussion. [01:23:17] Speaker C: No, no, no. I had callers who have an interest based on an observation. But had you turned tuned into the show at the beginning, I'm talking about tithing, taxation, and tips. And so I'm trying to draw a line that it takes money to support religious, government, and private entities. That's where I am. And I'm trying to say to you that the problems that you're facing in this country, it takes money to solve many of these issues. Immigration is one of them. If you want to correct immigration, then you got to hire more people. You hire more people. You got to find more money to pay the people their salaries when the people want an increase in salary. You got to find more money to meet with the union leaders and ensure that the union leaders are satisfied that their workers and members are being compensated properly. I'm trying to stay there. Go ahead. [01:24:07] Speaker D: Can you hear me? Let me end my contribution with this. [01:24:10] Speaker C: Okay? Go ahead. [01:24:11] Speaker D: The Bahamas. [01:24:12] Speaker B: This. [01:24:13] Speaker D: This government, this Philip Ray Davis. [01:24:15] Speaker C: Anton, I don't want to go down a political road today. I gotta let you go today. Let me take another caller, please, Because Anton trying to bully me today, and I am. Listen to me. For people who know me, and I love Anton. I love his father dearly. But listen to me carefully. I am not the one to bully. I just am not the one to believe. You're not gonna bully Goth. I don't care who you are. You call Michigan. You ask for Joycelyn Ward. That's my mother. And she will tell you, you're not gonna bully her son. It ain't gonna happen. I love God. I can try to be as truthful as possible. I'll be as respectful as possible. I will walk to the end of the earth with you. But the day you feel you can control me and bully me, you can meet the devil face to face. I promise you that. But go ahead. Next caller. Caller, go ahead. [01:24:59] Speaker D: God. How you doing? Seattle and Johnson. [01:25:00] Speaker C: Hey, my brother from Grand Bahama. Man, it's good to hear from you. [01:25:02] Speaker D: Yeah, we can. I'm going to call you on that on immigration tomorrow. [01:25:05] Speaker C: That's fine. [01:25:05] Speaker D: Easy to talk, right? Easy to talk on things. [01:25:07] Speaker C: Yes. [01:25:08] Speaker D: You know, if I call to say somebody's wrong, especially an accusation that the Guardian, like the newspaper or the media is wrong, I would state the wrong and state the correction, not allude to it's. [01:25:20] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm not interested in bantering. I really am not. [01:25:23] Speaker D: I understand it so. But, but useful. I have a question for you. [01:25:27] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:25:27] Speaker D: I want you to first of all know the system is not broken. [01:25:30] Speaker B: Okay? [01:25:30] Speaker D: Get that out of your head. [01:25:31] Speaker C: So we got to talk about the system. [01:25:33] Speaker D: Right. It's working the way it was intended. Okay. [01:25:37] Speaker C: And that's a show in itself. [01:25:39] Speaker D: Right. But see, because what happens is. And, and this, when we talk about the trend, I want to. Don't rush me after this. I want to talk to you about this, this tiding and this growth. But you have to understand is that we, in the age, we talk about innovation and the government and other people use it very, very frequently. Innovation, disruption. And another thing they call disruptive innovation. But the word innovation means new, a new product, a new idea. [01:26:08] Speaker C: I agree. [01:26:08] Speaker D: You don't. You technically do not innovate on anything. [01:26:11] Speaker C: Right? I agree. [01:26:12] Speaker D: Disruption is a consequence. It's a market up here, evil or something of that sort. And disruptive information is the cause, effect, bridge where the, the. Where an innovation causes disruption. And that is the problem is that we often say things and have no understanding that because they become buzzwords. You talk about this increase and the need for growth, whether the immigration or anything else. And that's where it comes to leadership. [01:26:42] Speaker C: Yes. [01:26:42] Speaker D: And you made a reference to saying that if you're in the church and you're not growing, then you are stagnant, you're not moving. But it's the same concept in leadership. Because, you know, just because you call somebody a farmer doesn't mean they understand the process of seed tree. [01:27:00] Speaker C: Very powerful. [01:27:01] Speaker D: And so, and so this is where you see them, you know them by their fruits and like how. Anthony, make a reference, you know, of what is. If you are the current farmer, if you are the current pastor, and I don't see growth in the, in the, in which you have custody of, then I know you have failed. You know what it comes back to the parable of the sower of the seed. So I see. [01:27:28] Speaker C: Alan, I really appreciate it. This is a powerful call and comment that you made. I know you don't like me to cut you. I just got to get these calls and these texts. [01:27:36] Speaker D: Let me just end in saying this. We now understand that we can test the spirit and seed and whatever. And this is where it comes to. When we begin to talk about leadership or where to what's now, what's new and what's next, we need to begin to question leadership. I know you heard how. Because we're in the age of information, you could tell us what needs to be done. We can observe to observation. But can you or your team tell us how? [01:28:01] Speaker C: Thank you so much for your call. [01:28:03] Speaker D: Then you are unqualified to leave. Thank you. [01:28:06] Speaker C: Hey, we're here jamming today and you know we love everybody. We want to give everybody a fair opportunity, but we got, we got. Hey, we got to follow some rules. We got to follow the flow. We just. We just can't be our own independently all the time. We got to sometimes choose to be interdependent and be respectful and love one another. That's what this is all about, man. This ain't about me. I'm not the Bahamas. I'm only goth. I'm only sitting here filling in. I mad at nobody. I ain't trying to take nothing from nobody. I ain't trying to be somebody. Listen to me. I am so happy the person that I am. I just thank the Almighty for who I am. I'm looking for nothing else from nobody else. I good. I hope you're good because we got to take this break. We could be right back with our final commentary and your phone calls and text. He is the king of crunch, the master of flavor. You know, I just had someone who was texting in and you know, they said they just tune in. Their producer don't like our Bahamian music. Hey, I love Bahamian music. Let me tell Bahamian music go. The minute you support one of us, you all tend to get a little sensitive and funny. You all is a funny set of people. I ain't scared to say these things to y'. All. You know, if you look at us in this country, the people who we support are all over us, man. The minute you feel like you're important, you feel like you see it. Anyway, I ain't fussing because of the end of the people. I'm showing. I want to get a squad out of here today. So let me just see. Because when you talk about culture and appreciation, culture and appreciation is just not just the music, you know, Know, culture appreciation is you being my good neighbor, man. Culture and appreciation is you. The way you drive your car on the road. I, I know you people, man. Y', all, y' all just try all kind of funny little things to try to throw the quips and quakes. I ain't saying you, you ain't right, you know, but today that's what I want to hear. Cuz I feel like Mr. Brinks now, me growing up, when I hear this song, I say, Jesus Lord, the song true. Now if you wouldn't get into the culture side of it. You want to have some cultural music, I could do that for you. But I don't know if your cultural music can speak to what I want speak too. Which one we play tonight to tell you that sometimes you just feel like it's Mr. Brinks. We got any song that's beheming to talk with Mr. Brinks. I just want. No, man, if somebody could tell me one song would stop with Mr. Brinks. I'd like to hear it. Because sometimes you just got to go down south and find a song with some meaning and some depth as to what you're trying to say. And when you talk about culture. But I can get so preachy on y'. [01:32:53] Speaker B: All. [01:32:54] Speaker C: Your bible ain't behemoth. Your bible in bohemian, your shalom and. And all of a hallelujah and all the rest of that. That in bohemian culture that come from way over halfway across the world, man. I wonder if somebody could give me a Bahamian bible and give me some bohemian talks instead of rubber shots. We talk about over these bikes. I'm gonna go down there today with y' all when it comes to culture, you know, because y' all gonna bring that out of me. Remember, I talk about that religion called a hypocritical thinking. That. That. That hypocriticism. It's just so deep inside the bones of us as a people, man. It is. It'll sometimes do some things to me. You got white behemoth, you got black behemoth, you got Indian behemoth, you got all kinds of different color behemoth. But you just want the black behemoth, right? That's what you want. You like. We can't play no white people music around here because we're a black country, Right? Then you get racist on me. And then Cat island don't like Andros and Andros don't like Aclands and Make Water don't like Crooked island and. And Abaco don't like. What the heck wrong with you people? You think you can dry God Roseboro into that? Not me. I bigger than that. I am univoiced because my father, all the cattle of the thousand hills, is his. Everything is his. And we love everybody. We just like everything to be done in decency and in order. And if I play Beethoven or Mozart tomorrow, it's because I have a little bit of more culture in me. A little more universal appreciation. What the heck is wrong with you? Yeah, we like Bahamian music. I was playing music on my way here. Huh? Something wrong with your behemoth music somewhere else, man. And I can meet you around the corner. That's how I go. But anyhow, let me. Let me cool down. Good News Bible. English standard Version. It's better than that James Bible. See, there you go. You got a different preference. This is what I'm talking about, man. God. That call is absolutely correct. I went into the mall days ago and it was filled with foreigners. What the Heck is happening with immigration? That's a good question. We could ask that question and find out what's really going on. I think it's a fair question. Garth. We have what sponge of money that is like Mr. Brinks. See, a certain generation could appreciate Mr. Brinks. That's all he's trying to say. We ain't trying to change nobody culture. We ain't trying to say one song better than the other. We could do a show on that as to what is the greatest music in the world. And then I would say to you, have you invested your money with the Bahamian musicians? How much money you spend on Bahamian music a year? Let me hear this and write down the one who's saying these things. Ain't spend not one dollar to support nobody. But you won't play that song when you feel like, when you think it's popular to play and then what? You're not gonna spend a dollar with these payment people. That's just being hypocritical. Anyhow. Let me, let me, let me try to calm down. 52, Antoine C. Island, Grammy Boy and others. Okay? No, y' all ain't gonna talk with my friends like that. Because I like all of them. They might be my voice. Garth, will it ever happen that all MPs show their financial status every year? Garth, you are strong. Keep it up. And here comes the comparison. But they telling me I'm doing a good job. I appreciate you see, I try to be respectful as much as possible. Garth, the political imbecile are throwing away money because if they install the right technological tools they can make plenty income just from traffic violations. Just from running red lights. I saw a work truck driving after dark with no backlight. And I mean no light at all physically. No light. My gosh, that's dangerous. No light on the rear of the truck. That's what they said. Tell that caller that this number boy is not too rich. He has money. The question is not that. It's that influence he will have with his money is called capitalism. Okay? These children will get citizenship and are not born here. I know a few have already gotten citizenship. So maybe you need to come and talk to us and let us know what's really going on. Goth behemoth children are being told there are no spaces in some government schools. Yet these self mindless brown noses calling these shows hysteria. Look like I am the only one who rile up today. Boy, that's another. Another hard hitting one. These are political and personal attacks. I'm reading that last text of Brother God. The imposition of taxes and high fees are done by the government to hold the Bahamian people hostage and dependent on them while they steal the riches of the country. But how must we wear and think survival? Listen, man, it's been a great show. I had a great time. This is Guardian Radio today. Guardian Radio, 96.9 FM. I will be back tomorrow. If you really want to fight, let's fight tomorrow. We're going to fight. You want. [01:38:02] Speaker B: You. [01:38:02] Speaker C: You want to talk about immigration? You want me really talk with immigration? I come in tomorrow. As a matter of fact, I could wear short pants tomorrow because we got plenty running to do tomorrow. Have a great one, everyone. Pleasure being here. This is Guardian Radio today, 96.9 FM. Until tomorrow, take care.
